Brothers, today I absolutely have to talk about the just-launched MG 4X.
To be honest,. When I got to the configuration sheet, I momentarily suspected I had traveled through time. Semi-solid-state battery, rear-drive five-link, CATL 610km long range, queen passenger seat, L2+ highway NOA... put these keywords together, guess how much it costs?

92,800—109,800 yuan (limited-time subsidy price). This is no joke. This time MG has truly welded the words "technology equality" onto its face.
Let's start with the most brutal part: for around 90,000 yuan you get a semi-solid-state battery + rear-drive five-link.
In the past we always said that a 100,000-yuan-class pure electric SUV was just a "commuting tool," with front-wheel drive + torsion beam as the norm, and a battery that could run 400km was already considered良心. But the MG 4X comes out and immediately flips the table.
The entry version has 510km range and comes standard with a semi-solid-state battery.

What does semi-solid-state battery mean? It passed all of CATARC's needle-puncture and cross-penetration tests, and after being frozen all night at minus 40 degrees in Yakeshi it can still be driven and charged. More critically, MG directly lowered the entry threshold for this technology by 10,000 yuan.

There is also a rear-drive five-link independent suspension. Rivals in the same class, are you still using torsion beams or ordinary MacPherson struts? The MG 4X directly gives you the chassis structure only luxury cars used to have, plus DP-EPS dual-pinion steering, a nearly 50:50 axle load ratio, and an ultra-low 530mm center of gravity. Simply put, it doesn't sway in corners, doesn't nod when braking, and doesn't jolt over potholes.
This car absolutely does not drive like a 100,000-yuan-class car.
610km+ CATL, the only one under 100,000
If you think 510km is not enough, add a bit more budget and go for the 610km version, the only 610km-range pure electric SUV you can buy under 100,000, and it uses a CATL battery.

The industry record of 500,000 units with zero spontaneous combustion stands there, a 64.2kWh large battery, CLTC 610km, and it can charge from 30% to 80% in just 16 minutes. This is no longer "good enough"; this is directly on the level of models above 150,000 yuan.
The features are passed down a bit "excessively"
Looking next at the cabin and intelligence, MG really is not planning to leave rivals a way out this time.
A 15.6-inch 2.5K large screen, the largest and clearest in its class. The Doubao AI large model is on board, with four-zone voice recognition, so it understands you when you speak. OPPO smart car full-protocol support for CarPlay, HiCar, and Carlink, seamless transfer of phone apps to the car system, and it can even broadcast outside the car.

The Smart Enjoy version is even more brutal: add 10,000 yuan and you get. Horizon Journey 6E chip + highway NOA navigation assist + queen passenger seat + front seat massage + panoramic sunroof with sunshade... Pull out this configuration list, and its total value is at least 18,000 yuan, but MG gives it to you for only 10,000 more.

That queen passenger seat, with 4-way electric leg rest, one-touch rest mode, and seats, sunroof, air conditioning, music, and ambient lighting all linked together. This used to be exclusive to 200,000-yuan-class cars, and now the MG 4X has brought it down to the 100,000-yuan class.

There is also a 571mm ultra-long rear seat cushion, a 20mm zero-gravity soft foam layer, 86% soft-touch coverage, EU REACH mother-and-baby-grade eco-friendly materials... These details show that MG is truly seriously making a "quality ride for young families," rather than simply piling on materials.

Safety has not been reduced either. European five-star safety standard, 80% high-strength steel cage body, 6 airbags. The battery's zero spontaneous combustion record stands there. The mechanical door handle retains electronic + mechanical dual insurance, so even in extreme situations it can be pulled open to escape. This point must be praised; unlike some new forces that sacrifice practicality for so-called technological feel.
Let's say something practical: is the MG 4X actually worth buying?
If you are a young family with a budget of around 100,000 and want to buy a pure electric SUV, to be honest, on the current market you cannot find a second car that stuffs semi-solid-state battery, rear-drive five-link, 610km CATL, L2+ highway NOA, queen passenger seat, and all these things into the 100,000 range.

This move by MG is not just selling cars, but redefining the standard for 100,000-yuan-class pure electric SUVs. Previously everyone thought "just make do with 100,000 yuan," but the MG 4X tells you: "100,000 yuan can also mean no compromise."
Of course, some will mention the brand power issue. But don't forget, MG has already sold 1 million vehicles in the European and UK markets and is in the first tier of Chinese automakers going global. Domestically, although it is not as loud as BYD or Aion, its product strength is right there, plus the supply chain backing of SAIC Group: Qingtao, Yanfeng, Huayu, CATL, Horizon, Momenta... This lineup is hard enough.

One last thing: if you have recently been looking at cars like Yuan UP, Aion Y, and Neta U, I suggest you first test drive the MG 4X before deciding. Because this car's configuration sheet and actual driving feel may make you rethink "what a 100,000-yuan-class pure electric SUV should really be like."
