On March 2, BYD's charm exploded once again, unlocking the superpower of filming from a god's-eye view! A "double feast for tech fans" unfolded at Shenzhen Bay as BYD suddenly dropped a major move, teaming up with DJI to launch a disruptive black technology — the world's first "vehicle-machine integrated" intelligent aerial filming system — Lingyuan! This show-off gadget that was once exclusive to million-yuan luxury cars has now surprisingly been made available to ordinary models. Can I just say I'm blown away?
All brands under BYD are equipped with Lingyuan
How impressive is "Lingyuan"? Simply put, it achieves full vehicle integration between the car and the drone, and will cover all brands under BYD, achieving technological popularization. "Lingyuan" mainly comes in two versions: a battery-swap version and a fast-charge version. The battery-swap version is mainly equipped on the Yangwang brand, while the fast-charge version is mainly equipped on BYD Dynasty, Ocean, Denza, and Fangchengbao. The full Lingyuan intelligent in-car drone system fast-charge version is priced at 16,000 yuan — cheaper than a top-spec iPhone! At the launch event, the Fangchengbao Bao 8 Drone Edition, the first to feature the "Lingyuan" fast-charge version, announced on-site that the entire Bao 8 lineup can be optionally equipped with the intelligent in-car drone system, priced at 395,800 to 423,800 yuan. This "black tech combo platter" made media at the scene exclaim: the era of universal access to "Lingyuan" has arrived!
The Bao 8 Drone Edition, as one of the first models equipped with BYD's intelligent in-car drone system, integrates top-tier technology from three tech giants — BYD, DJI, and Huawei. It features the DMO electric off-road pioneering platform, Huawei Qiankun ADS 3.0 intelligent driving, and the "Lingyuan" intelligent in-car drone system, bringing users a brand-new intelligent hardcore travel experience!
BYD joins hands with DJI
Wang Chuanfu also made a bold statement on-site: "This isn't about cutting a sunroof in the car to put a drone in — it's about installing a flying intelligent organ on the car!" According to internal leaks, this system hides 27 patents, and just that retractable landing pad alone went through 18 iterations — truly a pinnacle of industrial design!
DJI Group President Luo Zhenhua
Even DJI Group President Luo Zhenhua said at the launch event: "Technology is not a toy for the few, but a tool for the world." It can be said that this collaboration between BYD and DJI is not only an in-depth cooperation at the product level, but also a brand-new construction of the travel scenario ecosystem.
Some media joked that even the clumsiest people can instantly become editing masters — the Lingyuan intelligent in-car drone system achieves four major advancements: advanced architecture, advanced hardware, advanced algorithms, and advanced open ecosystem. "Lingyuan" uses the world's first in-car retractable landing pad solution, integrating multiple hardware components including an in-car drone positioning module, a 4K high-definition roof camera, and a custom dual-mode controller. It can not only achieve dynamic takeoff and landing, one-key return to the cabin, and follow-along tracking shots, but also storage and fast charging. 30 shooting templates and intelligent algorithms allow users to create a finished film with one click without excessive operation.
We can imagine a set of scenarios: with 30 cinematic-grade templates, highway racing can be shot like "Fast & Furious," and camping instantly becomes "Little Forest"; intelligent tracking algorithms: couple dates automatically switch to sweet camera movements, no longer fearing awkward boyfriend photography; 4K ultra-HD + motion capture: even the wingbeat of a flying bird can be frozen in slow motion. Even if you go out alone, with the above features, you can still shoot a blockbuster. One person, one car, one drone — equivalent to a whole film crew, and users themselves can become directors. From travel to footage, travel light and enjoy as you please.
In fact, upon closer thought, this system actually harbors ecological ambitions! DJI's cooperation with BYD is both open and mutually complementary. With the car as the core, BYD connects everything and works with partners in different fields to build an "intelligent car+" ecosystem. Up to now, BYD has reached strategic cooperation with multiple world-class technology companies, adhering to an open and inclusive attitude, continuously embracing industry tech partners, and creating a borderless "tech circle of friends."
No wonder the comments section has already exploded: "Is this buying a car? This is clearly buying a Hollywood tracking crew!"
