Mercedes-AMG CLE 53 Cabriolet to debut at Chengdu Auto Show and go on sale simultaneously

On August 21, news emerged that the Mercedes-AMG CLE 53 Cabriolet will make its debut and go on sale at the Chengdu Auto Show, which opens on August 29. As the high-performance version of the Mercedes-Benz CLE, the regular Mercedes-AMG CLE 53 was launched in the second quarter of 2024, with a guide price of 718,800 yuan. The price of the Mercedes-AMG CLE 53 Cabriolet will exceed that of the regular version, with its price in the Spanish market equivalent to about 840,000 yuan. In terms of exterior, the new car's front fascia features AMG's signature vertical-slat grille. Compared with the regular version, the AMG CLE 53 Cabriolet has a wider air intake in the front bumper and offers larger multi-spoke wheels and front four-piston red calipers, while the track has also been further widened. The new car's soft-top convertible mechanism can be opened and closed electrically with one touch at speeds below 60 km/h, taking about 20 seconds to open or close. In terms of interior, the new car is equipped with an 11.9-inch floating LCD instrument cluster, and the vertical central control screen measures 12.3 inches. The cabin uses more carbon fiber material than the regular version, and red stitching in the details enhances the sporty atmosphere. The new car's AMG sport seats have stronger side bolstering, and there is also a heating system at the headrest position, which can keep the driver warm when the convertible top is open. In terms of power, the new car adopts a 3.0T inline-6 engine + 48V mild hybrid powertrain, with a maximum system output of 449 horsepower, and the 48V motor can increase maximum torque to 601 N·m. The new car is matched with an AMG SpeedShift TCT 9-speed automatic manual transmission and the AMG Performance 4MATIC+ all-wheel-drive system, achieving 0-96 km/h acceleration in 4.1 seconds. Dada commentary: The Mercedes-AMG CLE 53 Cabriolet has a more aggressive exterior, and its interior is built with a large amount of high-end materials. It is equipped with an electric wind deflector and front-seat neck heaters, allowing the driver to maintain a comfortable body temperature even with the top down. The BMW M440i Cabriolet at the same price is slightly inferior in performance to the AMG CLE 53 Cabriolet, but BMW places more emphasis on handling and driving pleasure, and its overseas price exceeds that of the AMG CLE 53 Cabriolet. The Audi S5 Cabriolet has a quattro all-wheel-drive system, and its tech-rich interior is its advantage, but its power and brand influence fall short of the AMG CLE 53 Cabriolet.
