On May 20, XPeng's first full-size SUV, the GX, was officially launched. The new vehicle offers two powertrain options, pure electric and super extended-range, with a limited-time benefit price starting at 269,800 yuan, across 8 configurations. This price is more than one tier lower than the previously estimated industry starting price of over 300,000.

Body dimensions are 5265×1999×1800mm, with a wheelbase of 3115mm. Rear-wheel steering is standard across the lineup, with a minimum turning radius of 5.4 meters, comparable to an A0-segment compact car. Standard across the lineup are dual zero-gravity seats (front passenger + second row), four electric doors, an 88-inch HUD, a 17.3-inch central control screen, a 21.4-inch rear screen, a 33-speaker audio system, a dual-zone refrigerator, and a gentle-airflow quiet air conditioning system.

The pure electric version has a maximum CLTC range of 750km (dual-motor flagship), energy consumption of 15.2kWh/100km, supports 5C ultra-fast charging, adding 525km of range in 12 minutes. The super extended-range version is equipped with a 5C fast-charging large battery + a 60L fuel tank, with a pure electric range of 430km and a combined range of 1585km, dual-motor all-wheel drive accelerating from 0 to 100 in 4.98 seconds, with acceleration degradation under low battery below 1 second, and can use 92-octane gasoline.

Standard across the lineup are the X-VMC intelligent chassis, dual-chamber air suspension, and steer-by-wire (optional). For intelligent driving, it is equipped with the Turing AI chip, with a maximum computing power of 3000TOPS, and standard across the lineup is Robotaxi-derived technology, with features such as navigation-free roaming to be pushed in the second half of the year.

In terms of safety, it features a 16000T single-piece die-cast body, torsional rigidity of 56000Nm/deg, 11 airbags, and successfully challenged a 720° five-fold chain collision. The third row supports 50:50 electric folding, with a 673L trunk when fully loaded, capable of holding six 24-inch suitcases.

Dada's review:
The pricing of the XPeng GX this time is considerably lower than expected, starting at 269,800 yuan with rear-wheel steering, dual zero-gravity seats, 5C ultra-fast charging, and 800V, with essentially no cuts to the configuration. The extended-range version has a pure electric range of 430km and a combined range of 1585km, using electricity in the city and gasoline on long trips, making it highly practical. The steer-by-wire chassis and rear-wheel steering create a sense of nimbleness when driving a large vehicle. Combined with the reputation foundation of the XPeng G6 and G9, the GX should have good volume-selling potential in this price segment.
