On October 20, the 2027 Changan Qiyuan Q07 Tianshu Pilot Edition will officially go on sale.

The biggest highlight of this car is not the new car itself, but one thing it does for existing owners. Changan Qiyuan has announced that owners of the 2025 Q07 LiDAR version will receive a free OTA remote upgrade to unlock urban navigated assisted driving. There is no need to go to a dealership to have software flashed, and no need to trade in for a new car; once the backend push is completed, it can be used. For users who have already taken delivery, this is more practical than any new feature.

The current Q07 LiDAR version is equipped with the Tianshu Driving Assistance LiDAR Edition, featuring 1 LiDAR, 3 millimeter-wave radars, and 11 cameras, with a Horizon J6M chip and 128 TOPS of computing power. Previously, it only supported navigated assistance on highways and expressways. After this OTA upgrade, the system will be upgraded to Tianshu Pilot Pro, completing the missing piece of urban navigated assistance. From highways to urban areas, from expressways to traffic-light intersections, the Q07's intelligent driving capability is finally complete.

The specific configuration of the new Tianshu Pilot Edition has not yet been disclosed by officials, but judging from the naming logic, the exterior will most likely continue the current model's outline, with changes kept in places that cannot be seen. The current Q07 measures 4837/1920/1690 mm in length, width, and height, with a wheelbase of 2905 mm, positioning it as a mid-size plug-in hybrid SUV. The cabin is equipped with a 15.4-inch sunflower rotating central control screen, AR-HUD, a zero-gravity seat for the front passenger, rear ventilation and heating, and a 763L trunk that can form a completely flat large bed when the seats are folded down.

The powertrain continues with the Smart New Blue Whale 3.0 plug-in hybrid system. The 1.5L version has a combined power of 237 kW, while the 1.5T version has 275 kW. CLTC pure electric range is uniformly 215 km, and combined range is up to 1400 km. Fast charging from 30% to 80% takes 15 minutes. Fuel consumption under depleted battery conditions is controlled at around 5L/100km. For daily commuting, it can be driven as a pure electric car, and for long trips there is no range anxiety.

The Q07's sales over the past few months have not been bad. In its first month on the market, orders exceeded 30,000 units, relying on a combination of a starting price of 129,800 yuan, a 2905 mm wheelbase, and standard L2 across the lineup. But entering the second half of 2026, competition in the 150,000-yuan plug-in hybrid SUV market has become white-hot. The question the Tianshu Pilot Edition must answer is very direct: in high-frequency scenarios such as elevated roads, ring roads, and left turns at intersections, can urban navigated assistance actually run stably?

People who buy the Q07 calculate things pragmatically: use electricity normally, do not panic on long trips, and do not let intelligent driving randomly fight for the steering wheel. If Tianshu Pilot Pro can smoothly handle small things like lane-change timing, traffic-light countdowns, and congested following, that will be more useful than shouting ten more technical terms. After October 20, there are really two things to watch: how much more expensive the Tianshu Pilot Edition is than the current model, and which cities the urban navigation OTA covers.
