On October 20, the second-generation Seagull, the first fully redesigned model in BYD's Ocean Network, was officially launched. The new car is offered in 5 versions, with an official guide price of 65,900 yuan–99,900 yuan. After adding a 3,000 yuan trade-in subsidy, the super trade-in price is 62,900 yuan–96,900 yuan. Starting today, users who purchase the car can enjoy multiple launch benefits.

Since its launch in 2023, the Seagull has accumulated sales of more than 1.55 million units, setting the record for the fastest global all-electric model to surpass one million units in cumulative sales. In this generational change, the second-generation Seagull has been comprehensively upgraded across six dimensions: styling, space, comfort, intelligence, charging, and safety. It comes standard with more than 80 features across the lineup and brings multiple segment-exclusive configurations.

Styling: A refreshed Ocean Aesthetics with stronger personality
The second-generation Seagull adopts an all-new Ocean Aesthetics design. The front face has a low-slung stance, paired with trident-sharp LED headlights that are highly recognizable when lit. The side shoulder line runs from the front wheel arch all the way to the D-pillar, and together with 16-inch wheels, it creates a stronger sporty feel. Exclusive Seagull icons are also added in multiple places on the body.
The cabin stretches horizontally. The center console lines are dynamic and seamlessly connect with the instrument panel, while also creating dual-layer storage space; the door panels incorporate wave lines, and the interior uses water-transfer printing technology—from afar it looks like warm wood trim, while up close fine golden flecks can be seen. The new car offers 6 exterior colors: Lime Green, Berry Pink, Cream White, Sesame Gray, Ice Coconut Blue, and Mango Orange, as well as 3 interior colors: Shell White, Clear Sky Pink, and Polaris Gray.

Space: Upgraded from a "four-seat runabout" to a "proper five-seater"
The new car reconstructs the overall vehicle space. Body dimensions are 4205mm×1810mm×1570mm, with a wheelbase of 2650mm, both in the top tier of the segment. Rear legroom, headroom, and hip space have been comprehensively optimized, so three adults sitting in the rear do not feel cramped.

Loading capacity is equally outstanding: the 94L front trunk can hold a 20-inch suitcase; in standard condition, the rear trunk can accommodate 2 24-inch and 2 20-inch suitcases, and with the second row folded, maximum capacity expands to 1380L, with depth exceeding 1.5 meters. There are also more than 30 storage spaces inside the car, including a segment-exclusive 1.62L hidden automotive-grade tissue box and second-row storage boxes totaling 24L.

Comfort: Seats and features comprehensively advanced
The driver's seat has 6-way power adjustment and the front passenger seat has 4-way power adjustment. The front seat cushion width reaches 504mm, the widest in the segment. Both front seats are equipped with three-level heating and ventilation, and the driver's seat also offers multi-mode massage.

The full lineup comes standard with automatic air conditioning and 50W wireless phone charging, and is also equipped with multi-color ambient lighting and an 8-speaker audio system. The cabin also reserves smart ecosystem expansion points: the driver's area can connect to a magnetic charging mount, action camera, and more, while the seamless magnetic interface supports smart buttons.
Intelligence: LiDAR-assisted driving, extended down to small cars across segments
The second-generation Seagull is equipped with God's Eye B assisted driving LiDAR version (DiPilot 300), supporting functions such as urban navigation assistance and highway/fast-road navigation assistance, and promises dual backup for smart parking and urban navigation. Full-scenario parking assistance covers various complex parking spaces. When encountering a difficult parking spot, users can directly get out of the car and let the vehicle complete parking autonomously.

The cabin is equipped with the high-level DiLink 150 system and a 15.6-inch center screen. After shifting into D, key driving information automatically appears in the left 3-split screen area and supports switching between 7-split screen and full screen; even if the PAD system occasionally experiences communication delay, it will automatically switch to simple mode to ensure driving information is always displayed properly. Phone-vehicle connectivity, AI intelligent assistant, variable themes, and other functions are also included.

The new car comes standard across the lineup with smart entry, seamless unlock, and smart power on/off: when carrying a phone near the driver's side, the car unlocks, and pressing the brake is all it takes to shift into gear and set off. The segment-exclusive front trunk tap-to-unlock function opens the front trunk with two light taps; the power tailgate supports multiple opening and closing methods including buttons, remote control, and in-car switches.

Charging and driving control: The smallest model with flash charging, with range and handling improved together
The second-generation Seagull is equipped with BYD's flash charging technology and is currently the smallest model featuring this technology. It can charge in 5 minutes and fully charge in 9 minutes, requiring only 3 extra minutes in a minus 30-degree environment. Flash-charging versions also come with 12 months of free flash-charging benefits. At present, BYD has built 12,165 flash-charging stations nationwide and is expected to reach 20,000 by the end of the year.

In terms of range, the new car offers two CLTC range versions: 320km and 420km. Relying on an ultra-low drag coefficient of 0.28 and vehicle lightweight engineering, driving energy consumption is as low as 9.0kWh/100km.
In terms of power, maximum motor power has increased to 95kW, peak torque is 130N·m, and top speed is 150km/h. The chassis adopts "rear-mounted rear-wheel drive + rear multi-link independent suspension." Even as the body has grown larger, the minimum turning radius remains 4.95 meters, continuing the agility of a small car.

Safety: Full protection while parked, driving, and in emergencies
The new car comes standard across the lineup with Sentry Mode and works with the Sky Eye function for all-weather monitoring. The tire burst stability system can achieve stable control after a tire blowout within the speed range of 60km/h–140km/h, and AEB automatic emergency braking intervenes automatically in sudden situations. The body adopts a high-strength architecture and is equipped with up to 6 airbags, with the body structure prioritized to resist impact in a collision.
As the first fully redesigned model of the Ocean Network, the second-generation Seagull relies on the reputation accumulated by 1.55 million users and, with more than 80 standard features across the lineup and multiple segment-exclusive configurations, brings cutting-edge technology and cross-segment experience into everyday mobility for the public. The new car has now successively arrived at stores, and users are welcome to visit stores to experience it.
