On April 16, Volkswagen Anhui's second mass-production model, the ID.UNYX 08, was officially launched. The new vehicle is offered in three pure electric variants. The ID.UNYX 08 is positioned as a mid-to-large pure electric SUV, with body dimensions of 5,000 mm in length, 1,954 mm in width, and 1,688 mm (1,672 mm) in height, and a wheelbase of 3,030 mm, featuring a five-seat layout.

The ID.UNYX 08 features a closed-off front fascia, with an illuminated gold Volkswagen logo in the center and blacked-out trim on the front bumper. The body sides are equipped with frameless doors, hidden door handles, and roof rails, with the A-pillars finished in black. The rear features slim, horizontal taillights, with an illuminated red badge in the center, a gold "ID.UNYX" badge below, and the words "ID.UNYX 08" on the right side of the tailgate. The rear spoiler incorporates a wolf-head-style high-mounted brake light. Eight body colors are available.

In terms of interior, the ID.UNYX 08 is equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon SA8295P chip, a 10.25-inch full LCD instrument cluster, and dual 14.96-inch 2.4K ultra-high-definition connected screens. It supports in-car WiFi, AI space, smart voice, navigation, and scene modes, and can receive remote updates via OTA. The two-spoke multi-function steering wheel returns to physical buttons and scroll wheels, with an illuminated Volkswagen emblem in the center. The driver's seat supports 12-way power adjustment (including 4-way lumbar support), heating, ventilation, and memory functions.

In terms of intelligent driving, the ID.UNYX 08 comes standard across all variants with XPeng's VLA full-scenario driver assistance system, enabling full-scenario navigation-assisted driving (including highway NOA and urban NOA), all-domain assisted driving (intelligent reminders during human driving), and super intelligent assisted parking. The vehicle is also equipped with front and rear AEB automatic emergency braking systems.

In terms of powertrain, the ID.UNYX 08 is built on an 800-volt silicon carbide platform and is available in single-motor rear-wheel-drive and dual-motor all-wheel-drive versions. It supports super-fast charging, with a 10% to 80% charge taking approximately 20 minutes.

Commentary: As the first mass-production model from the Volkswagen-XPeng collaboration, the ID.UNYX 08 has developed its own characteristics by combining intelligent features with German chassis tuning. The vehicle lists numerous features as standard across all variants, including dual Turing chips (total computing power of 1,500 TOPS), full-scenario navigation-assisted driving supported by VLA end-to-end large models, CATL batteries, 800-volt ultra-fast charging, Brembo front dual-direction four-piston fixed calipers, matrix LED headlights, a 20-speaker audio system, dual 14.96-inch connected screens, and the Qualcomm Snapdragon SA8295P chip. The entry-level variant also includes all of the above features.

The three variants form a gradient in terms of power, range, and comfort features: the Pure version adopts single-motor rear-wheel drive with a CLTC range of 630 km; the Ultra version increases range to 730 km; the Max version features dual-motor all-wheel drive, accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.9 seconds, and comes standard with dual-chamber air suspension and a smart dimming panoramic roof. Overall, the ID.UNYX 08 has certain competitiveness in intelligent driving assistance and charging efficiency, adding a new option to China's mid-to-large pure electric SUV market.
